I would have to say that this is my favorite journal thus far. It is so inspiring to draw in Thoreau's book. I cannot wait to do more drawings and that is another good thing, because I cannot get better at drawing what I see unless I practice a lot.
Art is such a joy, now go and create!
What a cool idea! These are lovely. I like the way you are incorporating your drawings with the text.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea! It is neat to pick a suitable book like this for your topic. Love what you have done so far and can't wait to see the rest!!!
ReplyDeleteI tried to leave a comment and it said my cookies had been disabled! Hhmph!
ReplyDeleteI think your drawings here complement the book so far. It's nice that you didn't cover up the beginning pages so you will always know what book you've chosen to use as a journal.
I love this idea. Your drawings suit the book perfectly. I especially love the cloth cover. What a cool idea. I'll look at cloth in thrift stores with a new eye. Over here in Australia we call them Opportunity Shops! The name fits - hey.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely - I am looking forward to more.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda - this is great. I love the idea - in fact I love it so much I have done some drawings and collages on my own book ( a collection of short stories in Arabic). You'll find some here http://www.gypsyexpress.com/?cat=1&submit=view and some more in my www.fadwas-inspirational.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear what you think - and I look forward to seeing your art in the Walden book!
This is a great idea, I think words and drawings belong together, I'm always inspired to paint when I read poetry or mythology, and inspired to write sometimes while I'm painting.
ReplyDeleteIn my nature sketching journals, I sometimes paint right over what I wrote.
I love love love this idea!!! Iprefer to use books for my journals but I really like your twist on it! HHMMM.......... now off to the used book store..........
ReplyDeleteYes, a very interesting idea indeed, I have to find "the" book.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of drawing on top of old classics, haven't gotten the courage or funds to support that idea yet lol!
